ATTORNEY BIOGRAPHIES

Arthur J. Murray, Esquire  
Mr. Murray joined Alterman & Associates, LLC after more than twenty years in private litigation practice at two other law firms; namely Chamlin, Rosen, Cavanagh & Uliano in West Long Branch (1995-1998) and Jacobs & Barbone in Atlantic City (1998-2016). Mr. Murray has represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in a variety of Civil Litigation, including Employment (Discrimination, Harassment, Hostile Work Environment, Retaliation, Whistleblowing), Civil Rights, Professional Malpractice, Personal Injury, and Breach of Contract. Mr. Murray also have extensive practice in the Office of Administrative Law in Law Enforcement Disciplinary Matters.

Mr. Murray has first chaired 25+ Jury Trials (Plaintiff and Defense) to Verdict, including a Conscientious Employee Protection Act action against the City of Brigantine where the jury awarded $660,000 in compensatory and punitive damages as well as a $500,000 verdict (affirmed by the Appellate Division) in an action against Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, which was part of the 17th largest verdict in the State of New Jersey for 2000-2001. Mr. Murray has first chaired 30+ Administrative Trials (both at the municipal level and OAL level).

Mr. Murray has briefed 40+ matters and has argued 20+ matters before the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. Mr. Murray has briefed 5+ matters and has argued 3 matters before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Mr. Murray received his B.S. in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992 and his JD/MBA, cum laude, from Widener University in 1995. Mr. Murray has been admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey (1995), the Bar of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey (1996), the Bar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit (1997), and the Bar of United States Supreme Court (2003).
